LIMITED LIFE!

Sunday’s Monday

I saw a Spectrum Add this week that got me to thinking, its closing remarks were “life unlimited.” I found that very interesting as it is a reverse truth for this country where our culture has raised us to believe in science and good luck. We have come to doubt everything that can’t be rationally explained. We refuse to believe in miracles even when we witness one happening, and because of this, we don’t truly expect the miracle to manifest when we ask God for it. Many are trained to cry out to God merely to ease their pain, guilt, shame, etc.; basically, they are asking for some selfish, quick relief. To help us understand the word limited I found some synonyms that may help, limited could equal finite, narrow, restricted, hampered, and/or curbed.

We Christians often stand taller in our faith than in our belief. We fail to understand that we will not act stronger toward anything than our beliefs. I believe this to be backed up in, 1 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV), The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. This world is full of people (Christians included) who try to live with one foot in the spirit realm and one foot in this fleshly world. We allow the teachings of the world to influence almost every move we make. I have heard of people being raised from the dead in other parts of the world, and I’ve been blessed to talk to a couple of witnesses to the power of God raising someone from the dead. Yet, I seldom (if ever) hear it mentioned as happening in the United States. I hear many about the doctors bringing them back or that the hospital staff is the greatest. They brought my loved one back to life. God gets shortchanged a lot for the daily miracles He performs.

It all boils down to understanding who we are and what we want. Choices must be made! We all need to ask God to help us develop a solid system of structure and order. Truth is, the depth of one’s love for Jesus will be affirmed by the strength of one's faith, which one’s lifestyle will verify. Jesus instructed Peter as He had twice before. In John 21:17 (ESV), He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Now, for the question! We must ask ourselves: are we tending His flock and feeding His sheep? Once we ask this question, we need to enter into a deep meditation and end by spending some time talking to Jesus. The whole point is for you to find the truth about where your love, faith, and belief is in Jesus. Where does Jesus rate inside your heart?

Father God my prayer today for all people comes straight from your word in Romans 16:17-18 ESV, I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. May we hang with those who can help us free ourselves from the worldly teachings that bring us doubt and disbelief? May we all learn what it means to tend and feed your sheep. Help us to grow, expecting to witness and receive your miracles and increase our love and trust in you. Walk closely beside us (me), Lord, helping to shed our unbelief. May you bless abundantly those who are kind enough to read this blog. Amen
